This project continues to improve resilience and prepare for more capacity on the Wellington rail network, making commuting by train a more attractive and viable mode of transportation.
John Holland has been progressively replacing life expired Overhead Line Electrical (OHLE), upgrading the network with new masts and their foundations, service route ducting and new catenary and traction wires to reinstate the auto-tensioned system. Working in a live, brownfield environment requires detailed planning and logistics, a healthy and collaborative relationship with the asset owner, as well as a priority focus on electrical safety for our people, plant and equipment.
