Delivering part of Australia’s largest rail freight project.

Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2

The Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along 262kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is being delivered in two tranches. Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes replacing road bridges, lowering rail tracks and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stacked freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla.

The Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury (B2A) Tranche 2 project will require the removal and replacement of some infrastructure in the area, including Wandong’s Broadford-Wandong Road bridge, which will be removed and replaced with a higher bridge to give double-stacked freight trains safe clearance. Similarly, in Broadford, Marchbanks Road, Hamilton Street and Short Street bridges will be replaced. Tracks will be lowered under Hamilton Street and Short Street bridges, Broadford, and the Hume Freeway in Seymour and Tallarook.

Both the Euroa and Benalla railway station precincts will undergo major transformations to ensure they are safer and more accessible to passengers, with new platforms, pedestrian underpasses, and additional parking. The Anderson Street bridge in Euroa will be replaced with a vehicle underpass. Construction is due to commence in early 2025 and be completed by 2027.
