Supporting safer communities and improving recidivism.

Southern Queensland Correctional Precinct Stage 2

The Southern Queensland Correctional Precinct Stage 2 involves the construction of a new 15,000 bed, male correctional precinct , in order to meet the region’s growing needs over the next three to five years.

This new facility will address the overcrowding in Queensland’s current correctional facilities. Our customer, the Queensland Government states that this new centre will adopt a ‘health and rehabilitation’ operating model. Its aim is to support safer communities and improver recidivism through enhanced mental health and rehabilitative services for inmates.

Located at Millers Road, Spring Creek, about 12 kilometres north-east of Gatton and 100 kilometres south-west of Brisbane in the Lockyer Valley, Stage 2 includes main works construction, commissioning, and completion of the maximum-security facility.

The site is approximately 220,000m2 and will include 33 buildings connected by walkways. The team will also construct a complex building service network with extensive services infrastructure across the site. The scope also includes a secure perimeter fence, carparking and external landscaping and finishes.
