Redfern Station Upgrade – New Southern Concourse

As part of the Novo Rail Alliance, along with our Alliance partners, we’ve delivered improved accessibility to Platforms 1-10 at Redfern Station for passengers with a disability, limited mobility, parents/carers with prams and customer with luggage.

A new concourse with six new stairs and lifts and two new station entrances improves connectivity with key destinations including South Eveleigh, Carriageworks and the University of Sydney.

The Novo Rail Alliance has delivered infrastructure that improves accessibility, connectivity and safety for Sydney’s fifth busiest train station. Novo Rail is a partnership involving Transport for NSW, Laing O’Rourke, the John Holland Group and Aurecon.

Novo Rail Alliance

Delivery of the Redfern Station Upgrade is the Novo Rail Alliance’s 103rd and final project. For Novo Rail, project completion at Redfern Station marks the end of a 14 year-long journey to deliver alliance-driven design-and-construct contracts for junctions, traction supply upgrades, stabling, overhead wiring and rail signalling works. The Alliance has employed more than 1600 people and delivered more than $1.5 billion in project value across New South Wales.
