Connecting Sydney like never before.

Rozelle Interchange and Western Harbour Tunnel Southern Works

The $4.6 billion Rozelle Interchange and Western Harbour Tunnel is the missing link in Sydney’s WestConnex motorway – Australia’s largest road project. The Rozelle Interchange connects the extended M4 and the new M5 to the Anzac Bridge and Victoria Road in Sydney. The interchange will be a new underground motorway to the City West Link and provide an underground bypass of Victoria Road.

When complete the Rozelle Interchange will provide a new underground motorway network to connect some of Sydney’s busiest commuter corridors. It will reduce congestion in the inner west of Sydney and provide essential connections across Sydney. The project will also turn a disused railyard site into a vibrant green space with a new wetland, active transport links and recreation areas for all ages.

Consisting of 23kms of tunnel, four cut and cover tunnel portal structures, 12 bridges and two ventilation facilities connected to a fully undergrounded ventilation system, the Rozelle Interchange represents one of the most complex underground motorways ever undertaken.

It will completely transform a disused rail yard site to deliver up to 10 hectares of green parkland space and provide new active transport options to the community.

Our team was recently awarded the Southern Tunnelling package of the Western Harbour Tunnel, extending the package of work to build a new connection across Sydney Harbour.
