John Holland recently picked up three awards at the 2024 Property Council of Australia Innovation and Excellence Awards. The Victorian Heart Hospital won both the Best Public Building and the coveted Australian Development of the Year, and our work on inclusion landed us the Award for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion >250 employees.

The Victorian Heart Hospital is the southern hemisphere’s first state-of-the-art specialist cardiac hospital with cutting edge design that both minimises environmental impact and facilitates world-class clinical research, education and clinical care.

“Being recognised with two awards for the Victorian Heart Hospital is a great honour for the team and our client, the Victorian Health Building Authority, Monash Health and Monash University.  The team was dedicated to delivering excellence on the project, and our Business is very proud of what they achieved. This is truly a public building project that transforms lives,” said Sarah Tozer, General Manager Building for Victoria, South Australian and Tasmania.

John Holland also won the award for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion >250 employees. Some of the initiatives at John Holland that supported this Award win include our inclusion strategy with clear accountabilities to help us build inclusion into the ways we work; innovative flexible work trials on projects to remove barriers and improve wellbeing; community and business engagement to create social impact; achieving WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation; and supporting the industry to create lasting cultural change.
