The proposal, which has just received stage three approval from the NSW Government, includes a widening of the M7 Motorway and the delivery of the M7-M12 Integration Project, including a connection between Elizabeth Drive and the M12 Motorway.
The project will add an additional lane to the M7 Motorway, in both directions, for around 26 kilometres between the M5 interchange at Prestons to Richmond Road at Oakhurst/Glendenning.
John Holland CEO Joe Barr said it was an exciting milestone for a visionary project for Western Sydney.
“This is an important project for a rapidly growing part of Sydney, and we’re thrilled to be working with the WSO Co joint venture to bring its vision to life.
“The benefits of this project are clear – less congestion for motorists, a critical new connection to the Aerotropolis and Western Sydney Airport, and of course thousands of jobs created during construction.”
As preferred contractor, John Holland will soon work with its joint venture partners to commence design work on the project.
