As part of the North West Hub Alliance with Sydney Water, KBR, Inc. and Stantec, John Holland is excited to be selected to deliver the next phase of water treatment growth works in Sydney’s north-west, valued at $300 million and expected to be completed by late 2029.

Our Alliance has been awarded the second stage of works for the design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases for their North West Treatment Hub sites which includes Riverstone, Rouse Hill and Castle Hill water resource recovery facilities (WRRFs).

Scheme 2 builds on the strong progress already underway, awarded off the back of works currently in delivery at Riverstone and Rouse Hill WRRF, which are more than 50% complete.

Under Scheme 2, treatment capacity at Riverstone WRRF will double, supporting one of Sydney’s fastest growing regions. Design is already underway, with construction expected to commence in mid-2026.

Together, these works will expand treatment capacity, support future housing growth, and help keep Sydney’s waterways clean – a win-win for Australia’s largest city.

Find out more about how John Holland provides the infrastructure that supplies safe drinking water and removes wastewater for communities across the nation.
