Momentum, a consortium comprising John Holland, Seymour Whyte, Jacobs and Mott MacDonald, has been preferred by the Victorian government to deliver the next package of works on the North East Link (NEL) project.
Subject to a successful final tender phase, the alliance will be upgrading six kilometres of Eastern Freeway between Hoddle Street and Burke Road.
The works include new traffic lanes, bridge upgrades and urban noise walls and a new bridge over the Yarra River, and will provide Melbourne drivers with a seamless connection from the freeway to the new North East Link tunnels.
Construction is scheduled to start in 2025.
