Start a new career - get paid while you train

Are you interested in a career in construction but prefer a later start time? Our Pre-Employment programme is for you!

The M7-M12 Integration Project is currently hiring individuals who are eager to kick-start their career in the construction industry.

We are working to remove barriers for people to start a rewarding career in construction. That's why we are challenging the traditional early-start times in construction and offering a three-week paid training program that features a start time of 8:45 am, which is later than the standard 6:45 am. This program will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge for a full-time traineeship in civil construction or surveying with John Holland.

Is it for you?

Have you considered a career in construction, but the early start time has been a barrier? Then this is a programme for you. We're working to make the construction industry more inclusive for people who may have obligations outside of the workplace. Regardless of your work experience background, if you are reliable, a team player and willing to learn then this may be the career for you.

What does the programme include?

Work safely and how to follow Work Health Safety policies and procedures
Learn how to operate small machinery and support on site activities
Effective communication in the workplace
Using hand and power tools
How to manage risk
Work safely at heights
Work as a safety observer/spotter

Eligibility

To be eligible, you will need to be over 18, have full time work rights in Australia and pass the drug, alcohol and medical assessment. You must also obtain a general construction qualification (White Card) and be able to travel to the training site and work location in Western Sydney. If you do not have a White Card, we will support you to obtain one.
