The Glasshouse, Macquarie Square
The Glasshouse is the first of five buildings in John Holland’s Macquarie Square development, a spacious 3.2-hectare site located in Sydney’s bustling Macquarie Park business district.
The 35,114 sqm office building features eight levels of office space, with active ground floor retail, premium end of trip facilities and 350 secure car parking spaces for tenants. The progressive workplace was an integrated fitout delivered by JHG on behalf of the anchor tenant to accommodate the latest flexible workspace designs, integrated with smart technologies, complemented with an abundance of natural light courtesy of three dramatic atriums. The Glasshouse was delivered on time and budget to both client and anchor tenant’s expectations, achieving practical completion in March 2020.
A truly integrated John Holland development and building project, which seamlessly melds “work” and “play”, the award winning PCA ‘A Grade’ building will overlook the future 7,000 sqm public Catherine Hamlin Park. Local transport options are at its doorstep, with the Macquarie Park Sydney Metro train station a short, two-minute walk away. In 2024 when the Sydney Metro is complete Macquarie Square will be 20 minutes from the Sydney CBD.
The Glasshouse was pre-sold to Charter Hall in 2019 with Transport for NSW as the anchor tenant.
The building was the winner of the Commercial Building award in its category at the Master Builders Association of NSW Excellence in Construction Awards 2020.
