Central Plains Irrigation Scheme - Stage 1

Supporting the success & resilience of the farming community in the Canterbury region.

The project provided irrigation to approximately 20,000 hectares of farmland in the Canterbury Plains. Together with joint venture partner, Fulton Hogan, the joint venture delivered a 17km long gravity-fed headrace and pressurised pipe reticulation system to distribute water to shareholders. The work included installation of headworks at the Rakaia River, as well as more than 3 million m3 of earthworks and 13 bridges.
