John Holland’s environmental philosophy is built alongside the environmental framework of our parent company, Leighton Holdings, and the 4Ps concepts that underpin John Holland’s culture.

Our approach to the environment aligns with our 4Ps philosophy through

• Employing only those with the right attitude and skills to fit the JHG Culture.
• Developing internal talent through a combination of internal/external training and mentoring.
• Inviting newly-qualified environmental engineers and scientists to participate in the John Holland National Graduate Program.  

Demonstrating Performance annually through;

• Setting meaningful performance indicators and monitoring against targets (eg.07 /08 EIFR Target <0.08, Zero Class 1 Incidents, Zero prosecutions).
• Winning awards with an environmental component (eg winner 2007 National CCF Earth Award (Category 4 – projects $20-$75 million)).
• Reporting on our performance publicly through the John Holland Corporate Sustainability Report.
