Our geographic spread John Holland has offices located in all major metropolitan cities, as well as utilizing significant regional workshops and offices. John Holland's Mining business currently has operations based in both the Bowen Basin and the Gunnedah Coal Basin. We are able to mobilize resources and plant to work in any regional location in Australia.

We have an extensive track record in pre-strip and post-strip operations, as well as ore-mining and mine operations fields. Through the ownership of our own plant we can provide our partners the most efficient operations systems, whilst providing the surety of the latest and best maintained fleet. The size of our fleet also allows us to tailor solutions to our client’s needs and environs, and our preventative maintenance scheduling techniques ensure maximum capacity with minimum operational delays.
Our fleet flexibility, our fleet size, our workforce mobility and our workforce experience allows quick ramp up alongside industry leading efficiencies in mining services delivery and operations.
Our contracting methods
John Holland's Mining business has significant experience in a variety of contracting arrangements.
Our scope of contracts has seen us employed as a total mine operator, providing all statutory functions through the ore-extraction, waste removal and maintenance of mine site operations as defined by the Mining Act. These arrangements have seen us provide services ranging from all de-watering pits and infrastructure maintenance through to physical coal mine extraction and pre-clean coal preparations. These arrangements have also seen us provide all short-term and long-term planning based around our clients coal shipment delivery schedules.
Similarly, our projects have seen us work in supervised service contacts for client-planned tasks, as well as hard dollar BCM, price per tonne arrangements and full mine operation including statutory agreements paid under per tonne of product delivered.
Our range of contractual arrangements always focuses on ensuring our clients benefit from the efficiencies we can bring to their site; whether through total mine operations or a supervised service arrangement. The lowering of overheads though our specialist teams and plant enables us to pass on significant saving to our partners.
John Holland also features teams experienced in non-traditional contracting methods such as collaborative and alliance style contract.

| We take a risk-based approach to our work. All of our tasks are assessed for risk and our employees are trained to maintain a high-focus in risk mitigation management. We have proven track record in controlling risks, planning our activities around those risks, and ensuring the mitigation of the risk factors associated with mining operations. Our teams are continually trained above industry standard and are recipients of John Holland’s structured training programs. Our teams have been recipients of our industry leading Passport to Safety Excellence Program as well as our Supervisory Leaders Program. Our commitment to safety extends from our site teams, through to senior management, and through to John Holland’s Board.
